Rochester Business Alliance, MCC Help to Launch Local Recruitment Solution

The Rochester Business Alliance and Monroe Community College will announce the launch of Quietword™, at a press conference today at 9:30 am in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center Forum, (3-130). Quietword is a revolutionary recruitment solution that will more efficiently connect college students and alumni to employers looking to recruit and hire local talent.

“Brain drain is a problem in Rochester,” says Sandra Parker, president of the Rochester Business Alliance. “We have many high growth companies throughout the region that can offer exciting career paths for students and young adults, but these employers have to be able to source and recruit students with technology that is easy to use, efficient, cost effective, and allows everyone to participate—which is exactly what Quietword offers.”

“Our community is concerned with the ‘brain drain’ of college graduates who seek employment outside of Rochester,” said R. Thomas Flynn, president of Monroe Community College. “Currently over 90 percent of MCC graduates in our various career programs choose to live and work in the Rochester community. By offering the Quietword solution within our career center, MCC will increase the probability of even more of our graduates starting a rewarding career locally.”

Quietword allows job seekers to fill out a 'Career Passport', one time, for free and edit and update their information as their career desires change. Resume-like information is captured in structured data fields which allow employers to quickly, and easily, search, filter, qualify and rank candidates, for free. Career seeker's also set their 'career desires', which allows a career seeker to tell a massive amount of employers what they are looking for: part time work, permanent positions, internships, volunteer opportunities, co-ops, summer work, seasonal positions.

Five area colleges—Monroe Community College, SUNY Brockport, Keuka College, St. John Fisher College, and Finger Lakes Community College are the first to implement Quietword on their career websites. The Rochester Business Alliance will offer Quietword to all employers in the Counties of Monroe, Seneca, Yates, Ontario, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Wayne and Livingston.
