Thank you all for your participation in our first iteration of the new myMCC portal! Since the soft launch on June 1st over 1,700 unique users have signed into the portal each month! Additionally, we can see that there have been over 11,000 student sessions in the mobile app (Monroe CC for Android and IOS stores), and 1,722 student sessions on the web.

Many of you have provided fabulous feedback, input, suggestions, and requests via the portal feedback icon, directly through tech tickets, and via email at mccapplied@monroecc.edu.

We are working closely with departments and areas to build individual service area content pages, and are adjusting the portal to meet the needs of the community. Please continue to reach out to personalize your areas page/tile.

As with the creation of any new product or service there are many data points to evaluate. We have taken the strategic approach of collecting individual and group perspectives, industry best practices, analytics from the current myMCC portal (blackboard), the most recent MCC app, and usage within the new portal when designing the student, employee and guest home pages and content pages. Students have been at the center of this work, providing direction on design and access through service learning courses, direct co-op experiences, and lean six sigma evaluations.

Last week we responded to a number of requests that had come in since early June to “streamline” the portal home screen. The communication we had received was that the large number of tiles displayed by default on the screen could be overwhelming. We responded to these many requests and programed the system to hide a few less used tiles to see how the view/access would work for the community.

Upon further research with the community, and outreach to the division liaisons for the portal implementation, we have chosen to update the portal view once more. As of today, you will see all direct access tiles we have created to date available on your home screen.

myMCC offers a number of personalization opportunities. Any tile you do not need direct access to can be removed from your home screen by selecting the arrange tiles icon and clicking on the “x” in the top right corner of the tile. myMCC Updates and Training

Update

A short video on how to personalize your view is available online, and on the Portal Help tile within the portal itself, myMCC.monroecc.edu. You can also learn how to re-add any removed tile from this video!
