Financial Aid Census Date for Fall Semester

The census date for Federal and State financial aid for the Fall Semester is Thursday, October 2nd. This means that a student cannot add a class after this date and have their financial aid award increase. Also financial aid will not be reduced for those students who withdraw from an individual course after this date. However, if a student gets dropped from a course for non-attendance, their aid will get reduced if their status changes. For example, if they go from full time to half time due to attendance drops, their aid will pay based on half time status. If they are at half time status on October 2nd, they cannot at a later date add classes for fall and have their Pell award increase or become TAP eligible by becoming full time after October 2nd.

A student whose enrollment includes late start classes that start after October 2nd can have aid disburse for those classes after attendance is turned in, as long as the student is registered in the class by October 2nd.

Please refer students to financial aid if they are unsure of how their financial aid will be impacted due to withdrawals, drops, or adding courses.
