MCC to Host a College Readiness Conference on June 2, 2017

What does it mean to be “college ready”? How closely and flexibly can we define this term considering the varying contexts of student experience? How can collaboration between high school and college faculty encourage diverse conversations around student preparation?

Please join us for collegiality and conversation on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 8:30-3:30 in Monroe A and B for a professional development conference “Mindfully Defining College Readiness.” We’ll introduce various academic definitions, hear video-capture of local student voices, listen to a Buddhist priest’s take on the topic, hear from a panel of high school and college partners, and engage in dialogue groups with colleagues.

We’d love to hear your perspective and share about how to best prepare students for the many  challenges of college. Registration is free and open now at: https://bit.ly/collegereadinessconference

Please see the attached flyer for more information. Feel free to email me, Angelique Johnston, at ajohnston@monroecc.edu <mailto:ajohnston@monroecc.edu>  with any questions.
