News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Board Room, Spina Administration Building on the Brighton Campus on Monday, June 2 and took the following actions:

1.     Accepted the interim financial reports as of March 31 and April 30, 2014.

2.     Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 for March and April, 2014.

3.     Approved the Schedule of Tuition and Fees for September 1, 2014 - August 31, 2015.

4.     Approved the Operating Budget for the fiscal year September 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015.

5.     Approved the appointment of Dr. Jeffrey Bartkovich as Interim Provost/Vice President of Academic Services effective June 2, 2014.

6.     Approved the appointment of Laurie Palmer as Chairperson of the Nursing Department effective September 1, 2014.

7.     Approved the following A.A.S. degree, subject to the approval by the State University of New York: Early Childhood Education: Child Care Practitioner, A.A.S.

8.     Approved the following A.S. degree, subject to the approval by the State University of New York: Liberal Arts and Sciences: Chemistry, A.S.

9.     Approved the following A.A.S. degree, subject to the approval by the State University of New York: Public Safety Communications, A.A.S.


10. Approved a resolution thanking student Corina E. Neelin for her service as student trustee

11. Approved a resolution congratulating the MCC women's lacrosse team on its national championship.

12. Approved a resolution congratulating ice hockey Head Coach Craig Chamberlain on his nine years of service.

13. Approved a resolution to conduct an executive session pursuant to Public Officers Law Section 105, subsection (f).

The Board heard presentations from Dan Burns, chair of the MCC Foundation Board, on recent fundraising successes and from President Kress on the anticipated schedule of progress on the College's new downtown campus at State Street and Morrie Silver Way.
