King for a Day Service Project - Seeking Participants

King for a Day is an annual service project event organized by Rochester Cares (https://www.rochestercares.org/) to recognize and celebrate the legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. This event is attended by students from local colleges as well as service minded individuals from area businesses and non-profits. This half day event invites groups to coordinate and provide service to an organization or group of individuals here in our local community. Participants come together in the morning to share a free breakfast and hear from community leaders and speakers before deploying to their pre-arranged service site for the remainder of the morning. Rochester AmeriCorps is part of the planning committee and will be participating with 30-40 members. The committee is interested in getting involvement from other departments and students groups at MCC who would plan and serve at a site of their choosing.
