Digital Day at Canisius College


On Friday, March 2, Canisius College will hold its 7th Annual Digital Day from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., an afternoon devoted to exploring teaching technology and finding new ways to bring technology into the classroom to enhance and enrich the teaching and learning process. Educators from across the region are welcome to attend.  Over 20 concurrent sessions and exhibits given by K-16 educators across the Western New York region have been scheduled.

The opening speaker will be Tamara Rosier, PhD, who will conduct a virtual session via web conferencing technology.  Her topic will be "Metacognition That Fosters Deeper Learning."

The closing session will be a Panel discussion. “The Future of Learning in a Connected World: the EDUCAUSE Horizon Report” will feature three educators from the region: Jennifer Herman, Director of Instructional Support, Niagara University; Roberta Sullivan, Associate Director of the Teaching And Learning Center, University at Buffalo; and Laurie Cichocki, Enrichment Teacher and Technology Integrator, East Aurora Free School District.  The panel topic will be moderated by Estelle Siener, Director of Academic Computing, Canisius College, and Patricia Coward, PhD, Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence, Canisius College.
