2019 Employee Benefits Open Enrollment - Don't Miss the New Offerings!

The Open Enrollment period for 2020 employee benefit elections will run from November 5th through November 27th. The deadline for submitting all forms and enrollment to the Human Resources Office by Wednesday, November 27th by 4:45 p.m. An Open Enrollment channel will be established this week on myMCC under the Employee Essentials tab.

There have been some changes to the benefit offerings this year - do not assume that you do not need to do anything this year! As noted on the attached schedule, several open enrollment meetings will be held for active employees. At these meetings, all of the benefit changes and enrollment opportunities will be shared. All employees are strongly encouraged to attend so they can be fully informed of their benefit options. Some of the changes are highlighted below.

Long-Term Disability & Life: The College is changing the insurance company that provides our group long-term disability and life coverage from the Hartford to Lincoln Financial. Here's what this change in carriers will mean for you:

  • If you do not currently carry long-term disability or life coverage with the College, you have this one-time opportunity to enroll without the requirement of a medical application.
  • For those employees who elect to participate in the College's optional life insurance coverage, you have this one-time opportunity to obtain optional spouse and dependent life insurance coverage.

If you are not sure if you currently carry long-term disability or life coverage through the College, please review your most current pay stub.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Lincoln Financial will be providing the College's EAP beginning January 2020. The EAP plan and the benefits available through that plan will be presented at all Open Enrollment meetings.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA): If you wish to have a flexible spending account (FSA) for 2020, you must enroll using the online enrollment link. FSA elections do not carry from one year to the next; you must enroll and make your election each and every year. Please note: you must enroll electronically using the Benefit Resource, Inc. enrollment web link - NO paper enrollments will be accepted. The enrollment link will be available beginning November 5th and will end on November 29th. There are no enrollment forms-this is your only method of enrollment.

CSEA Dental: The College is changing third party administrators for the CSEA dental plan. Instead of the Health Economics Group, all CSEA dental claims will be processed and paid by Excellus. The dental coverage and rates will remain the same for 2020. All current dental participants will automatically be moved to Excellus and will receive an Excellus dental card. Please remember to give your dental provider your new dental coverage information in 2020.
