It’s Time for a Renovation!

On Monday, May 17, President Anne Kress announced that Drs. Saroj and T.K. Viswanathan pledged a substantial donation to the Monroe Community College Foundation to fund the renovation of MCC’s Dental Hygiene Clinic. Professor Saroj Viswanathan, DDS, known as “Dr. Vis” at MCC, has been a pillar of MCC’s dental program since 1974. The renovation will be the first capital improvement project at MCC to be completely funded by private philanthropy.

The clinic renovation will provide the infrastructure for a dynamic new health care setting that will improve the educational experience for MCC students and overall patient care. While the clinic setting will be transformed, Dr. Vis says the quality of instruction will remain high. The project will be completed between June and August 2011.

“I am thankful my husband and I are in a position to help. The new clinic will be beautiful. I can’t wait to see it,” Dr. Vis says.

According to Dental Studies Program Director David Lawrence, DDS, “She is one of the major reasons MCC students are so successful and our program is highly respected.”
