Rochester AmeriCorps Members, Staff Volunteer for I Love My Park Day!

Eleven Rochester AmeriCorps members along with staff and family members volunteered at Ganondagan State Historic Site as part of the 5th Annual I Love My Park Day, an event organized and sponsored by Parks and Trails New York. Members served in an array of capacities that included weeding and preparing flower beds and gardens, updating the site’s informational kiosks, and putting the final touches on landscaping around their brand new museum and visitor’s center. This is the fourth year Rochester AmeriCorps members and staff travelled to Victor to take part in the annual event. After the hard work was complete members were treated to a tour of the bark longhouse and were invited into the beautiful new exhibition space. It was a gorgeous day and a great opportunity to spend some time in nature serving a local treasure. For more information about Ganondagan and all the great work they do visit Ganondagan.org.
