William Sigismond honored with  the 2011 Excellence in Professional Service Award

Please join the Faculty Senate in congratulating William Sigismond, the 2011 Excellence in Professional Service Award Honoree. This is the highest award granted by Monroe Community College in Professional Service.  Its purpose is to recognize the individual who consistently exceeds his or her job requirements to support MCC’s mission and student success.

Bill Sigismond of the Career and Transfer Center is an outstanding example of such an individual.  In addition to his daily responsibilities, Bill has developed probably the most extensive and respected Disney program in the Northeast, if not the entire country. He not only advocates to make sure that each participating student has a rewarding experience, but is responsible for the Academic component of this vast internship program. He works tirelessly to make sure that students are well placed into co-op and internship programs and that off campus sites are well managed.

Bill’s dedication and commitment is legendary.  Many adult learners at MCC are indebted to Bill for their success. As they return to college, some after many years, Bill makes himself available before and after hours, and on the weekends to help them no matter what is takes. Colleagues treasure Bill as someone who values hard work and loyalty. His no-nonsense approach to problem solving is couple with a friendly, warm, and approachable personality.

We are proud to recognize Bill Sigismond!
