Leaders from Four Local Companies Join MCC Foundation Board

Four community leaders have joined the Monroe Community College Foundation Board of Directors. Jeffrey A. Davis, Lauren Dixon, Junius R. Judson II and Paul H. Sartori, Ph.D. will each serve for a three-year term.

Davis is president of Elmer W. Davis, the largest roofing company in New York and one of the top 40 largest roofing contractors in the United States. Davis’s grandfather established the company in Rochester 1936 and it currently employs 200 employees. Davis has worked for his family’s business for over 25 years. A graduate of Ithaca College, Davis also serves on multiple community boards including the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong, School of the Holy Childhood, Oak Hill Country Club, Genesee Valley Club and the First Presbyterian Church of Pittsford.

As CEO of Dixon Schwabl, Dixon leads 75 employees and oversees about 150 local and national accounts. Dixon’s advertising, marketing and public relations firm—named the Best Small Company to Work for in America in 2008—also boasts a strong philanthropic commitment, donating more than 7,500 hours annually to not-for-profit organizations. Dixon, who served as MCC’s Commencement 2009 keynote speaker, has received multiple awards including the Ernst & Young Communicator of the Year award, the Rochester Business Ethics award and the Toastmasters International District 65 Communication and Leadership award.

Judson is a principal at SWBR Architects & Engineers, P.C., an award-winning practice serving clients along the East Coast. The Rochester native has been touted during his career for his team spirit, ability to analyze and design, and quickly represent ideas in simple renderings. He has been a member of the MCC Foundation’s Scholarship Open golf tournament committee since 2005 and was a community advisor for the PAC Center campaign. He is also a former board member of the Builders Exchange Board of Governors. Judson holds a master of architecture degree from Washington University, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Sartori is corporate vice president of public affairs and human resources at Bausch & Lomb. During Sartori’s career, he has served as senior vice president of organizational development and human resources for BioTrove, Inc., and as partner and principal at CHM Partners International, LLC, an executive search and management consulting firm. Sartori serves as a trustee of the Curry School of Education Foundation at the University of Virginia and is an advocate of lifelong learning. He earned a master of arts in teaching degree in history, a doctorate in education, and master of business administration degree from the University of Virginia. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Northeastern University.

Celebrating its 26th year of supporting student success at Monroe Community College, the MCC Foundation is led by John T. Smith ’71, chair; Howard Konar, immediate past chair; Alan Resnick, treasurer/finance chair; and Emerson Fullwood, secretary.
