Take the Challenge

A recent article in the Democrat and Chronicle called on each of us to remember the events of 9/11 with an act of service. The MCC Biology Department is asking others to accept this challenge and join us in supporting the American Red Cross’ “90 Days of Remembrance.” By making a blood donation you not only honor the victims and heroes of 9/11 but also help those in urgent need.

Did you know...*
* 4.5 million Americans will need a blood transfusion this year?
* someone needs blood every 2 seconds?
* one pint of blood can save up to 3 lives?
* less than 1/3 of Americans eligible to donate blood take the time (~ one hour) to do so?

To schedule an appointment for the MCC blood drive on July 26 at the Brighton Campus, visit https://www.mcc.givesblood.org. To schedule an appointment for another date and location visit https://www.redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-733-2767.

Regardless of where you donate, be sure to let the site know the MCC Department you work in. We encourage all departments to work toward 100% participation of eligible donors!
