RTS FYI's and FAQ's to Consider When Planning Spring Semester Schedules

With Spring 2018 Priority Registration on the horizon, I wanted to share some relevant FYI's and FAQ's to consider when planning to take classes on both the Brighton and Downtown Campuses.

Consult the bus schedule when registering for classes to ensure you have allowed enough time to travel between campuses.

  • When reviewing the schedule, allow that the bus can be 10-15 minutes off schedule due to construction, traffic and/or weather.
  • Recommend selecting a bus route that arrives to campus a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the start of your class to allow for any unexpected delays.

What do I do if the bus is late?

  • Stay connected with RTS by signing up for text alerts on the RTS webpage or download the RTS Where's My Bus? App

Know that there are several alternate bus routes and stops located near our campuses that may provide preferred travel times. Reminder only select routes (5, 55, 155 and 23-after 5pm) are FREE with valid MCC ID.

  • Downtown alternate stop: State Street
  • Brighton alternate stops: East Henrietta Rd.

How to find alternate bus routes/stops

  • https://maps.google.com/
  • Search for a specific location/intersection. Ex. State Street, Rochester NY
  • Map will show RTS bus stops in blue.
  • Click on the RTS icon it will list all the routes that stop at that location
  • Access all bus schedules at www.myrts.com

You MUST have your MCC ID to ride for FREE on 5, 55, 155 and 23-after 5pm.

  • If you lose your ID you must purchase a replacement, RTS will only recognize a valid ID for access, there is no temporary ID option

Reminder there is no direct bus route between Brighton and the Downtown Campus.

  • Riders must change buses at the Transit Center.
  • 5, 55 and 155 all use the same gate located on Mortimer St.
