Sharing & Caring Fundraiser Raises $3,500 for Camp

The Peer Mentors are happy to announce to the students, faculty and administration that we were able to raise $3.500 dollars to give to the Sharing and Caring program for Camp Good Days and Special Times.

The Sharing and Caring program is set up for children who have seen the evils of violence up close. They have had a close family member be a victim of a heinous crime. A camp is set up in August in which these little ones can engage in activities that are both fun and healing. The money the Peer Mentors collected was given to Mr. Gary Mervis the director of the camp on the night he spoke at our anti-violence program April 27, 2005.

The Peer Mentors would never have raised the money without the help of the MCC community. Thanks to all of you who donated soda cans, ink cartridges and/or money.

We will be raising money again next year for this cause. If you would like more information about the camp, please stop in our office in Building 1 – 108 or call 292 -2552
