MCC Sustainability Committee Supports “Curb Your Car” Week

The MCC Sustainability Steering Committee and ColorBrightonGreen.org would like to encourage you to “Curb Your Car” during the week of October 3-9, 2010.  Families throughout Brighton and the greater Rochester area will pledge to leave their cars home for one or more trips during the first full week in October to coincide with National Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 6.  Can you walk, bike, take the bus, carpool, telecommute, or combine trips?  “Curbed” trips can be to school, work, piano lessons, the grocery store, or anywhere you would normally drive your vehicle.  The hope is to surpass last year's success, which included over 380 participants who saved a total of 7400 miles and over 300 gallons of gas!  Please include MCC as your school or employer and you’ll receive information at the end of the week of MCC’s total contribution.  Prizes will be awarded to top mileage savers, and randomly to participants.  All participant contact is through e-mail.
