Celebrate the Celtic Nation of Galicia with MCC Celtic Society

Join MCC’s Celtic Society at 6 p.m. on April 8 in 12-129 as we screen and discuss THE WAY, a film set in Galicia, one of the lesser-known Celtic lands.

Starring father and son actors, Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez (who also directed the film), THE WAY tells the story of a father who travels to Spain to claim the body of his son who died while traveling El Camino de Santiago (The Way of Saint James), a medieval pilgrimage route that ends at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, northwestern Spain.

Following the film screening, pilgrim Sarah Norris will share her experience travelling the Santiago Way in the fall of 2011.

The event is free and open to the public. Free pizza and soda will also be provided.

Throughout the spring semester, you can catch screenings and discussions of a number of Celtic-related films. Each is free, open to the community, and begins at 6 p.m. in 12-129.
