Celebrate Holiday Memories and Magic

On Thursday, 11 December at 6 p.m., please join MCC's Celtic Society in 12-125 for a FREE screening and discussion of "A Child's Christmas in Wales."

Based on the remembrances of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, "A Child's Christmas in Wales" not only captures a moment of Welsh cultural history, but also conjures the magic of the holiday season.

From a description on the Internet Movie Database: “It's Christmas Eve in Wales. A young boy named Thomas is excited about the holiday, but he's also disappointed because it's raining instead of snowing. His grandfather [played by Denholm Elliott, AKA Marcus Brody of INDIANA JONES fame] gives him an old snow globe as an early Christmas present and starts telling colorful, amusing stories about his childhood Christmases that are shown in flashback” (IMDb).

Whether you are Welsh or no, young or old, come celebrate the holidays with Celtic Society! (Light refreshments will be served.)

Throughout the academic year, you can catch screenings and discussions of Celtic-related films. Each is free and open to the community. Stay tuned for more information about Celtic Society’s spring semester films.

Celtic Society’s purpose is to raise awareness of the Celtic Nations (Brittany, Cornwall, Galicia, Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland, Wales) and diaspora. It aims to share and celebrate Celtic culture with the college community. Celtic Society welcomes all students, faculty, and employees, regardless of their ethnic backgrounds.
