The MCC men's basketball team has earned the top seed and a bye into the semifinals of the 2007 Region III, Division II basketball tournament this weekend. The tournament will be held at Genesee Community College.
MCC will play either Alfred State or host Genesee at 1 p.m. Saturday. Alfred and Genesee played in the sub-regionals last night.
The Tribunes finished the regular season with an impressive 26-3 record, including a 13-1 mark in Western New York Athletic Conference play. If MCC wins on Saturday, it will play in the finals at 1 p.m. Sunday at GCC.
The winner of the regional tournament will qualify for the NJCAA Division II national tournament, held March 21-24 in Danville, Ill.
There will be no admission charge at the tournament, so take the short drive to Batavia and support the Tribunes as they look to return to the national tournament.
