This free event will include performances by the Dreamseeds Drum & Dance group, video highlights from this year’s drilling operations in Sudan, recognition for three outstanding supporters, and a panel discussion on key issues affecting Water for Sudan’s drilling operations.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Angelique Stevens (English/Philosophy), assistant director of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project and Water for Sudan board member. Panelists include Salva Dut, founder and president of Water for Sudan; Alephonsion Deng, award winning author of “They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky”; JB Manin, MCC adjunct professor of history and lawyer; and Water for Sudan board members Nancy Reinert and John Turner.

The event will be followed by a reception and book signing at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where MCC s Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project students will be raising funds for Water for Sudan.

The Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project has partnered with Water for Sudan for five years raising over $20,000 for the organization.
