“I heard the news today…oh boy….”.
Please mark your calendars and come share your story of where you were on the day that John Lennon was murdered, December 8, 1980. The Sociology Film Series will screen the 1996 American Justice documentary, “The John Lennon Assassination”, and we will discuss the CD “Stay Human” (2001) by Michael Franti & Spearhead to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the killing of the ex-Beatle and peace activist. Issues of incarceration, the death penalty, racism, sexism, homophobia, media literacy and more will be explored.
DATE: Wednesday, December 8, 2010
TIME: 3:00pm-6:00pm (view film/discussion followed by CD listening/discussion)
PLACE: The Community Room #4193 – Damon City Campus
