The Department of English and Philosophy is pleased to announce the 32nd Annual Department of English and Philosophy Writing Contests. Open to all currently enrolled "for credit" MCC students, awards of $150 each are being offered to first place entrants in the following areas:
- Rice Award for Best Personal Essay: submissions must not exceed 2,000 words
- Langlois Award for Best Short Fiction: submissions must not exceed 3,000 words
- Cloos-Susskind Award for Best Poem: submissions of a single poem must not exceed 60 lines
- McMurray Award for Best Philosophical Essay: submissions must not exceed 2,000 words
Deadline for the competition is 4 p.m., March 3, 2003.
