MCC Student Leader Invited to White House Summit

Join me in congratulating MCC student Ted Carey who will be attending the White House Summit on Community Colleges next week!

Only about 100 individuals from across the country are invited to this forum, including representatives of community colleges, business, philanthropy, federal and state policy leaders, and students. The summit is being organized in order to highlight the critical role that community colleges play in developing America’s workforce and reaching our educational goals. The event is being organized and hosted by Dr. Jill Biden, a professor at Northern Virginia Community College and wife of Vice President Joe Biden, at the request of President Obama.

A former Brighton Campus student leader and a current Damon City Campus student leader, Ted is president of the American Student Association of Community Colleges (ASACC). While he will be at the October 5 summit in his role with ASACC, he is certainly proudly representing MCC as well.

I encourage you to participate in the summit by contributing to the online dialogue at: <<
