Save the Date: Excelsior Webinar - December 4, 2017

Thank you for providing ongoing support, staff and resources to implement the New York State (NYS) Excelsior Scholarship program. Your collective hard work has paid off. Statewide we anticipate that approximately 17,000 students will receive Excelsior Scholarship funding this year. In the coming years, the number of scholarship recipients will likely grow as the program income limit increases and awareness of the program expands.

The Excelsior Scholarship has statutorily mandated academic requirements which differ from the requirements for other NYS and federal financial aid programs. It is important for us to provide specific advice and support to ensure Excelsior Scholarship recipients meet the academic requirements and maintain their program eligibility, ultimately achieving completion. It is also critical for us to leverage Excelsior Scholarship program for enrollment growth by providing clear program information to prospective scholarship applicants.

To assist us in understanding the program and developing a plan to provide academic support and counseling to both scholarship recipients and prospective applicants, SUNY System Administration will live stream a webinar on December 4, 2017 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm in the Empire Room on the Brighton Campus.

The webinar topics include:

  • Excelsior Scholarship eligibility
  • Academic requirements
  • Campus responsibilities
  • Award certification and payments

We encourage you to participate in this important webinar. If you are planning on attending, please RSVP to Colleen Dolce in the financial aid office at cdolce1@monroecc.edu.
