Professor Emerita Patricia Donahue, Information and Computer Technologies

The MCC family is truly saddened to learn of the passing of Associate Professor Emerita of Information and Computer Technologies Patricia “Pat” Donahue on June 21, 2021.

Associate Professor Emerita Donahue earned a master’s degree in Business Education and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Alfred University, and an associate in applied science degree in Accounting from Alfred State College.

She joined MCC in September 1987 as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Office Technology/Secretarial Science. In 2001, she became an assistant professor, followed by a promotion to associate professor, in the Department of Office & Computer Programs.

Examples of her leadership include revising MCC’s Office Technology curricula to align more to the needs of local employers and to better prepare students to enter the workforce. She inspired students and colleagues by developing MCC’s Medical Office Secretary and Call Center Certificate programs and helping implement a basic computer skills programs for GED students to support enrollment.

Associate Professor Emerita Donahue was a founding member of MCC’s Dual-Credit Committee. She is remembered for contributing to a wide variety of college committees and initiatives and taking the time to coach CSEA members who were preparing for exams during her 27-year career.

Upon her retirement in June 2014, the MCC Board of Trustees bestowed upon her the rank of associate professor emerita in recognition of her dedicated service.

She will be dearly missed.

No public services are planned at this time.
