The Provost and the SCAA Committee of the Faculty Senate have approved the following changes within the Division of Interdisciplinary Programs.
Effective September 1, 2012, the American Sign Language and Foreign Languages disciplines will become one department with the name “World Languages and Cultures.” This new department will be housed within the Liberal Arts Division.
The ESOL discipline will remain within the Division of Interdisciplinary Programs, merging with the Transitional Studies Department under the new name “ESOL/TRS Department.”
Louis Silvers will serve as Chair of the World Languages and Cultures Department.
Amy Burns will serve as Chairperson of the ESOL/TRS Department.
Suzanne Elrayess will serve as Coordinator of the ESOL Program.
