Accessing the Electronic College Catalog and Student Handbook

In Fall 2015, I assigned the Curriculum and Program Development Office the responsibility of updating the 2016-17 College Catalog and Student Handbook and also of leading the College in exploring various vendor solutions to bring our catalog on-line for 2017-18. Due to some innovative thinking and hard work, we have successfully implemented an on-line College Catalog and Student Handbook a year earlier than we had expected, allowing us to leverage current MCC databases and resulting a significant cost savings over other solutions.  Special thanks go to Andy Freeman, Curriculum and Program Development, and to Bob Reynolds, Web Specialist, Computing and Information Technology Services, for their efforts and diligence in bringing this project together so elegantly.

If you have not had the chance to look at the electronic catalog yet, I invite you to follow this link: https://www.monroecc.edu/academics/catalog/

Making the catalog web-friendly provides a more frequent update of content possible, including new programs and courses as curriculum is amended and also meets the ever increasing expectations of mobile users.  If you have questions regarding content, please contact Andrew Freeman at 292-2189 or <mailto:afreeman@monroecc.edu> .

The Personnel section of the Catalog is overseen by Human Resources.  Please check your own listing in that section of the catalog, and if your information needs to be updated, you can submit changes by clicking:

https://employees.monroecc.edu/ETS/CurricProposals.nsf/WebPages/Home+Page?OpenDocument

Click - create proposals and choose second choice - catalog change – personnel.  If you have any questions regarding Personnel, please contact Sandy Warren at 292-2106 or <mailto:swarren@monroecc.edu> .

Having an electronic catalog allows us to have the most current and accurate information consistently available to our students and to the rest of the campus.  As we transition to working electronically, I encourage everyone to try to avoid printing out the catalog listings.  Not only is this a “greener” solution, it also avoids having multiple hard copies of documents that may be missing important updates and changes.
