TV Report on New Health Care Programs

Through funding provided by the county's Imagine Monroe/LadderzUP and other sources, an additional 245 individuals will have an opportunity to participate tuition-free in MCC's health care training programs--including Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Advanced CNA, and Home Health Aide--in the 2019-20 academic year.

An estimated 355 CNA positions are likely to go unfilled annually in the Finger Lakes region, according to an MCC analysis of the middle-skill labor market.

The expansion of the health care programs follows the tremendous success of the MCC CNA training program, which launched in March 2019. Of the 103 students who have completed the program so far, 95 percent have passed the New York state exam and are employed as a CNA.
