Successful High Tech Exploration Night and Skills Competitions

Over the last two weeks, several hundred students and family members have been introduced to careers in technologies at MCC.  These events have been successful due to the hard work of staff, faculty, matriculated students, and business and industry sponsorship from the Xerox Foundation and Corning Incorporated Foundation.

Thanks to Xerox MCC was able to have a successful technology skills competition.  New students from high schools showcased STEM skills on April 18.  The competitions focused on sumobot and bridge resistance.

On April 25, Corning supported a much more robust High Tech Exploration Night.  This event introduced potential and current students to employers in optics, tooling and machining, engineering fields, computing professions, and MCC's Career Coach.

Both events were a true success due to the committed faculty and staff, and industry sponsorship made a big difference.  We can be both proud of the work put in and in seeing much peaked interests and possible yield in MCC's technology careers.
