League TLC - October 2003

Ever wish you could go back in time and make smarter decisions? Distance Learning students at Long Beach City College (CA) are doing just that, thanks to the S.I.D.E. Road project, and their grades are going from F to A as a result. Created in the college’s Instructional Technology Development Center, S.I.D.E. Road is making it possible for even the most daunted of distance learners to succeed. Discover how it works in this month’s HYPERLINK "https://www.league.org/leaguetlc/index.htm"League/TLC update.

Visit the HYPERLINK "https://www.league.org/forum/"LeagueTLC Forum for discussion opportunities with Alexandra Helpburn, Project Director of Faces of Our Community: Connecting Through Story, Shoreline Community College.

The National Center for Accessible Media (NCAM), with the League for Innovation, is conducting a workshop on accessibility and media technology in the classroom at the HYPERLINK "https://www.colorado.edu/sacs/ATconference/ncamlfi.html"Sixth Annual: Accessing Higher Ground Conference in Boulder, CO, November 12 –14, 2003. NCAM will also present new projects such as e-books (Beyond the Text) and updates on existing projects and assistive technology tools that help colleges accommodate and comply with Section 508 Standards.
