STEMtech 2011 – Early Registration and Discounted Hotel Reservation Deadline Fast Approaching

The League for Innovation’s second annual STEMtech Conference will be held October 2-5, 2011, at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis, Indiana.  This conference offers an interactive learning experience with a strong focus on STEM disciplines – science, technology, engineering, mathematics – in general education and workforce training and in technology use across the institution.  STEMtech is also the place to explore the intelligent application of information technology in community and technical colleges.  Overall, this conference will provide a wonderful opportunity for your faculty and staff to share ideas and innovations with their peers.

“The Role of Faculty and Staff in Private Fundraising, Grant Development, and Grant Management” and “CIO Summit:  The Impact of Mobile Information and Communication Devices on the Institution” are both six-hour workshops that will take place on Sunday, October 2, with the main conference running from Sunday through Wednesday.  “Role of Faculty and Staff in Private Fundraising, Grant Development, and Grant Management” consists of two critical sections – grant opportunities and private fundraising opportunities – and will engage participants in substantive work that will provide them with practical skills they can immediately take back home and apply.  During “CIO Summit:  The Impact of Mobile Information and Communication Devices on the Institution,” participants will explore several important factors that must be addressed when developing effective and sustainable strategies to accommodate the increasing number of mobile devices being used on and off college campuses.  Full workshop descriptions can be found at <"https://www.league.org/2011stemtech/summits.cfm">.

The 2011 STEMtech Conference also includes exhibitors who bring the latest STEM and technology developments and perspectives from the private sector.  Keynote speakers include David Thornburg, Founder and Director, Thornburg Center, and Jim Brazell, Technology Forecaster and Strategist.

Please note that the early registration deadline and the cut-off date for accepting reservations into the discounted hotel room block is Friday, September 9, 2011.  Register online a t<"https://www.league.org/2011stemtech">.  For additional information, contact Ed Leach at <"mailto:leach@league.org"> or (480) 705-8200, x233.
