MCC United Way Campaign: One Week Countdown

Did you know that last year, 719 different people at MCC benefited directly from one of the many United Way Agencies; 587 of them participated in Red Cross Health and Safety programs.  We raised in excess of $100,000 through the generosity of the MCC family including $10,565 pledged by retirees of MCC, and we were number one among the area colleges with 61.4% of MCC employees pledging.

As we enter the last week of the campaign we’re at 62.5% of goal. One campaign week was lost to spring recess, but with all of the forms returned this week we expect to achieve our goal of raising $105,000 in support of over 100 different community programs.  Remember, you can pledge online via the United Way website or submit the traditional paper pledge form in your United Way envelope to your department coordinator.  Even if you do not plan to give, please indicate on eWay or a pledge card ‘no donation’, to ensure no one has been missed.

United Way does a lot of good things in our community.  No matter where you live in our community, you’re never really far from a family in crisis, seniors who are struggling to remain independent, or kids about to give up on school. Donors are helping United Way  tackle these challenges every day and real progress is being made.

Thank you for considering a donation to the United Way.  The contribution you made last year is still working hard to create positive change in our community.
