TCC: Looking for Online Resources? The Purposeful Prof is LIVE!

Wondering how to get students to connect to your content and take responsibility for their learning? Looking for ways to help students develop habits for learning?

Following her recent professional leave, Judi Salsburg Taylor (ESOL/TRS) debuted her original research and website at Monday's Adjunct Supper for Success. The Purposeful Prof: Making Informed Pedagogical Decisions (thepurposefulprof.org) is the result of a year-long study of student learning needs in gateway courses at MCC.

This website includes research on teaching adults as well as interviews with MCC faculty and specific methods for improving your instruction. Salsburg Taylor clearly details how and why to address the affective, cognitive AND metacognitive learning domains in college classrooms. If you are unfamiliar with these terms, no problem! There is lots of "delicious material" throughout the site.

MCC faculty are highlighted in multiple videos showing how to apply the learning theories in our context.
