Margaret Kaminsky Discusses Interesting Classes on WXXI

Leading up to the start of the academic year, the August 14, 2018 Connections with Evan Dawson radio program featured professors talking about interesting classes being taught at area colleges. Margaret Kaminsky, chair of MCC's Chemistry and Geosciences Department, graciously talked about MCC's Chemistry of Indulgence (CHE 110) course. The course, developed by Professor Lydia Tien, provides an integrated laboratory/lecture experience in which students explore various principles of chemistry using everyday contexts such as food. Margaret highlighted the popularity of the course and how the Downtown Campus's "flex lab" perfectly suits teaching and learning. Faculty from the University of Rochester and SUNY Geneseo also participated in the discussion.

Thank you to Margaret for sharing her experiences and inspiring our community during the interview. Callers to the show commented on how college professors have an immeasurable impact on people's lives.
