HSMI to Receive 48K Grant to Conduct Citizen Preparedness in Region

The Homeland Security Management Institute (HSMI) was selected under a competitive process to receive a 48K grant from Federal Homeland Security funding to assess Citizen Preparedness of our five county region in western New York. The assessment includes Monroe, Orleans, Ontario, Wayne and Livingston counties. Citizen preparedness is a significant concern among local, state and federal officials and HSMI is viewed by the Federal government as one of the most progressive organizations in developing and delivering citizen preparedness programs. According to Director John Perrone, this award is recognition of our past work in this field and the assessment is needed to determine investment justifications for future funding for this region.
