On Friday, Dec. 14th 7:30 p.m., MCC’s Madrigal Singers will celebrate the holiday season with a historical sampling of the Madrigal, from its Medieval and Renaissance roots. Selections will include: “Lullaby, My Sweet Little Baby” by William Byrd, two Spanish Christmas carols by anonymous and a Medieval carol fantasy arranged by Brad Printz that will have audience members singing along.
Seventeen student singers will be dressed in period costumes provided by Heather Fox. They will be accompanied by a consort of student and guest musicians performing on period instruments. Guest musicians include - Glenda Dove, recorders ; Dr. Alan Mandel, oboe and recorders; and Katie Pritt/Fittipaldi, cello. In addition Siu Yan Luk will play electronic harpsichord, Tom Fittipaldi will play renaissance lute and student musicians will also play violin, recorder and percussion.
Free and open to the public, this performance will be held in the North Atrium of MCC’s Brighton Campus.
