NACEP Awards Re-accreditation to MCC's Dual Enrollment Program

The National Alliance of Current Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) has granted re-accreditation to Monroe Community College's Dual Enrollment program. As the only national set of quality standards applicable to concurrent enrollment partnerships, NACEP's standards serve as the model criteria for ensuring that student work in Dual Enrollment courses matches the standards of the sponsoring college.

To earn re-accreditation from NACEP, MCC conducted a self-study, documented how the program adhered to NACEP's 17 standards and underwent a rigorous peer-review process conducted by a team of representatives from NACEP-accredited programs and the NACEP Accreditation Commission.

Eighty-two MCC faculty work closely with high school teachers to ensure that each class is equivalent to an MCC course. Every year, over 4,000 high school students at 48 partner high school and BOCES locations earn MCC credit through our program, one of the largest in the SUNY system.

The Dual Enrollment Program is another way MCC fulfills our mission of access and excellence. High school students benefit from the enhanced experience, parents benefit from a cost savings, our high school partners benefit through the collegial partnership and the community benefits through the opportunities Dual Enrollment presents. I am very proud of the work of our program.
