Are You Ready for a Lockdown?

Monroe Community College will be conducting lockdown drills at the Brighton Campus and the Economic and Workforce Development Center in the near future. Drills are being conducted to increase the college community’s awareness of MCC’s Emergency Response Plan, to highlight measures you can take to keep yourself safe in the unlikely event of an active threat, and to provide an opportunity for all to practice their response.

Each drill will begin with an audible announcement advising those on campus that a lockdown drill is underway. Community members who have registered with MCC Alert will also receive a message as well as a campus-wide e-mail message announcing the drills. If you are on campus during a lockdown drill, please be prepared to follow all instructions immediately. An “All Clear” message will be delivered when the drill has concluded. Each drill is expected to last approximately 10 minutes.

Recognizing that the concept of emergency management is an ongoing process, the Department of Public Safety is committed to helping the college community know and understand emergency response efforts. Information regarding emergency management and lockdown procedures may be found on the Public Safety webpage under the Emergency Management section. You can also call the Department of Public Safety’s non-emergency number (x2912) or administrative number (x2902) if you have any safety concerns or questions regarding emergency preparedness.
