MCC's Role in Economic/Workforce Development Highlighted

MCC was frequently mentioned in a syndicated Gannett News Service article on workforce development that was released this weekend.

The article, which appeared on the front page of the Democrat and Chronicle's Sunday (July 7) issue, focused on the state's economic recovery. Todd Oldham, vice president of Economic Development and Innovative Workforce Services, spoke about the skills gap that MCC and local employers together are addressing and about the high-demand jobs in the Rochester region. Bob Murray, who is enrolled in MCC's accelerated precision machining certificate program, was also interviewed for the article. Bob is returning to MCC to pursue a new career; he graduated in 1985 with a degree in communications.

The article was picked up by several media outlets across New York and elsewhere in the country, including The Tennessean and in The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Ky.
