News from the MCC Board of Trustees


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Board Room on the Brighton Campus on Monday, August 6 and took the following actions:

1.      Accepted the interim financial report as of May 31, 2012.

2.      Authorized the purchases of items over $20,000 for the month of May 2012.

3.      Authorized the transfer of funds between accounts.

4.      Appointed to Professor Emeritus status Patricia Kuby, Mathematics; Donna Petrie, Mathematics; and Terri Tugel, Biology.

5.      Appointed to Associate Professor Emeritus status Gail Bouk, English/Philosophy; James Maley, Law and Criminal Justice; Maryann Marino, Biology; and Linda Schwartz, Nursing.

6.      Approved the appointment of Martha Maher-Garcia as Director, Human Resources, effective September 1.

7.      Approved the appointment of Dolores Pasto-Ziobro as Institutional Compliance Officer and Internal Auditor, effective September 1.

8.      Approved the retirement of Dr. Marie Fetzner, assistant to the vice president, Educational Technology Services, effective August 17.

9.      Approved a Disability Professional: Entry Level Certificate program, subject to the approval of SUNY.

10.  Approved the promotions of adjunct faculty. (Please see related Tribune article.)

11.  Approved the promotions of professional staff. (Please see related Tribune article.)

12.  Approved the reappointments and salaries of Vice Presidents Bartkovich, McDonough, Oldham, Salvador and Simmons.

13.  Approved the 2013 meeting calendar of the Board of Trustees.

14.  Conducted an executive session pursuant to Public Officers Law Section 105, subsections (e) and (f).

Additionally, the Board heard presentations by Bonadio and  Co., the college’s auditing firm, on the upcoming audit; Dr. Kate Schiefen, Dean, Academic Services, Damon City Campus on the 2012 Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll; and David Mack, chair of the MCC Foundation Board of Directors, on Foundation initiatives.
