<p>Monroe County announced 526 new COVID-19 cases yesterday. The seven-day rolling average of new cases is 594 new cases per day. Most of Monroe County is still considered within orange warning and yellow precautionary zones.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Orange Warning Zone</strong> <strong>restrictions are in effect at MCC's Downtown Campus and Eastman Business Park</strong> (skilled trades apprenticeship-related programs). Online, remote and limited in-person classes taught from these locations will resume on December 7th. Students, faculty and staff must participate in pooled testing sessions this week.</li>
<li><strong>Yellow Precautionary Zone restrictions are in effect at MCC's Applied Technologies Center, Brighton Campus, Public Safety Training Facility, and at our welding program at Rochester Arc + Flame Center. </strong>Online, remote and limited in-person classes will continue as scheduled at those locations.</li>
</ul>
<p>To date, MCC has completed 4,900 pooled tests. Since our last report on November 30, the Monroe County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) has notified the College of 19 positive cases of COVID-19 among students and employees. Contact tracing is complete and people who were in close contact* and who need to quarantine or isolate have been notified. According to MCC Health Services:</p>

<li>0 students are isolating on campus</li>
<li>34 students are isolating off campus</li>
<li>34 students are in mandatory quarantine (off campus)</li>
</ul>
<p>We understand the desire to know the 'who, what and where' around any positive test within the MCC community however, MCC is unable to legally disclose any further details or personal identifiable information about these individuals with a positive test per federal privacy laws.</p>
<p><strong>MCC Pooled Testing Sessions</strong></p>
<p>Per SUNY mandates, if you are returning to campus--for any reason for the remainder of the fall semester--you must participate in pooled testing sessions. The next session dates are from 9:00 a.m-1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, Monday, Dec. 14 and Tuesday, Dec. 15. at the Brighton Campus; no appointment is necessary (<a href="https://www.monroecc.edu/fileadmin/SiteFiles/GeneralContent/coronavirus/documents/COVID_Pooled_Testing_Instructions.pdf">instructions</a>).</p>
<p>If you choose to be tested by another provider this week, please send proof of a negative test to Human Resources Director Kristin Lowe at <a href="mailto:klowe5@monroecc.edu">klowe5@monroecc.edu</a> .</p>
<p>If you have been in close contact with a person who has recently tested positive, please do not come to campus for pool testing. Please make an appointment to be tested at a testing site such as the <a href="http://www.monroecc.edu/index.php?id=29078">New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) drive-through site</a> behind MCC by calling the NYSDOH at 1-888-364-3065.</p>

<p><em>* Close contact is defined by the Centers for Disease Control as someone who was within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting from 2 days before illness onset (or, for asymptomatic clients, 2 days prior to positive specimen collection) until the time the patient is isolated. </em><em>Because the general public has not received training on proper selection and use of respiratory PPE, such as an N95, the determination of close contact should generally be made irrespective of whether the contact was wearing respiratory PPE. At this time, differential determination of close contact for those using fabric face coverings is not recommended.</em></p>
