Join Phi Theta Kappa and the MCC Bosom Buddies in the Making Strides Walk on Oct. 17th!

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Fellow Students:

Monroe Community College Campus Life is alive and thriving this semester, and following along with MCC's amazing history of service within the community we, the Alpha Theta Iota chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, would like to invite the college community, faculty, students, and staff, to join us in the next example of just what Monroe Community College is all about.

Everyone, whether male or female, has been touched by the effects of cancer whether it be within your family or among your friends. Cancer is an equal opportunity and vicious killer. It is a disease that can seemingly come without cause or warning, and it does leave a path of devastation in its wake. The American Cancer Foundation is at the front lines of this war, and one of its weapons is the fundraiser known as The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. This year Phi Theta Kappa is sponsoring a team and joining the front lines. We invite you, the entire MCC community, to join us in not only raising the money needed for the continuing search for a cure, but in showing our support for the veterans, survivors, and casualties of this battle by walking.

This year the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is being held on Sunday, October 17th, at Frontier Field starting with registration at 9:00 am with the event starting at 10:30 am. The walk itself is a mere 1.5 mile walk to the Liberty Pole on Main St. and back. Our team, the MCC's Bosom Buddies, hopes to achieve a goal of 25 team members and the minimum donation goal of $1,000. We at Phi Theta Kappa believe that the college can raise well beyond this amount, and would like to challenge the student body, faculty, and staff to assist us in surpassing our wildest expectations.

To assist us in reaching our goals there will be a donation jar and sign-up applications at the Phi Theta Kappa Office in Building 3, room 133 or you can sign-up online at Our Team Page (<https://www.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=60738&supId=57940842>).
The deadline to sign up or make a donation is October 13th. If you have any questions please give the Phi Theta Kappa Office a call at (585) 292-2567 or stop by.

We look forward to walking with you!

Sincerely,

Lisa Heininger Vice President of Service
