Please encourage everyone you know who lives or works in Brighton or anywhere in the Rochester area to register for 2009 Curb Your Car Week.
When: May 10-16, 2009
What: A week to encourage people to find alternative ways of getting where they need to go. Ride with a friend. Ride a bike. Ride the bus. Walk. Work from home.
Why: To save energy, to reduce pollution, to help create a greener community. And studies find that people who change their behavior for a one-time event--biking when they can drive, for example--often maintain that behavior even after the event is over.
What we want from you:
1. Register online at https://www.colorbrightongreen.org/.
2. Tell all your friends, family, and co-workers to register.
3. Keep track of all single-person trips you avoid during the week of May 10-16.
4. Fill out a brief online survey afterwards so we can calculate how many miles and pounds of CO2 were saved that week.
Last year we saved 7400 miles, 313 gallons of gas, and 5900 pounds of CO2. Let's see how much better we can do this year!
