College 101 for Parents a Success

On Wednesday evening, November 17th 2010, the Admissions Office hosted College 101 For Parents.  Now in its sixth year, College 101 for Parents is a program designed to assist parents in our community with the college planning  process.  Over 150 parents of college-bound high school students participated.

Many members of the MCC community came out to support this program.  Thanks to Mike Kelly, Athletics, Mark Schwartz, Financial Aid, Holly Wynn, Career Center and Transfer Services, and Kris Blake, Advisement for presenting workshops.  Sarah Hagreen and Julie Slate from Admissions participated in panel discussions with representatives from SUNY Geneseo, The College at Brockport, St John Fisher and Robert Wesleyan.  Several area high school counselors presented workshops as well.  Christine Casalinuovo-Adams coordinated the event and Connie Herrera coordinated the publicity.

The next College for Parents is scheduled for February 9, 2010 and will highlight the Financial Aid Process.
