LPP Students Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity

For the past two years, Liberty Partnerships Program students have worked with Habitat for Humanity at making area families’ dreams of home ownership come true. Once again, on November 11th, students in LPP gave back to our community by helping build a home on Grape Street which is in the JOSANA/PAETEC neighborhood.  Ten students enthusiastically wielded paint brushes and put up vinyl siding. We salute these students for giving up their day off from school in the spirit of volunteerism.

LPP, a pre-collegiate program in operation at MCC since 1989, serves at-risk youth in grades 7-12 in the Rochester City School District.  LPP is funded by the New York State Department of Education to provide academic and personal support to these youth in an effort to ensure that they graduate from high school and enter post-secondary education and the workforce as competent and compassionate young adults.
