RAVA visits new robotic studio at DCC Campus and speaks with the creator of 292-BABY, James Coffey

RAVA, the Rochester AudioVisual Association will be having lunch and touring the brand new Rochester Parent Network studio at the downtown MCC Damon City Campus on June 6th from Noon-1pm.  RAVA is a local non-profit organization celebrating its 50th year in Rochester.  The organization tours many facillities around the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.  The 292-BABY studio is a unique broadcasting facility that transmits to Time Warner from the 4th floor of the Damon Campus to over 320,000 homes on cable channel 4.  You may be familiar with the new 292-BABY campaign.

Paul Tracy, current RAVA President and MCC ETS employee, says MCC employees are welcome to join RAVA at the lunch hour and visit with the man who inspired the studio, James Coffey.  You will see robotic cameras and a touch panel interface plus other goodies that let Jim run the show while maintaining an on-air host presence.

RAVA members and MCC guests can park in the St. Joseph’s garage. Upon entering the Sibley Building, take the main elevators or the center escalators near the historical Sibley’s clock to the 4th floor security guard desk.  From the security guard desk, we will all go en mass to Midtown Plaza just over the bridge and buy our own lunches from a variety of establishments, then head back to the Parent Network Studio to eat and tour.  Please be prompt at Noon so we can stay together as we trek across to Midtown and back.

If you are an MCC guest, please RSVP by 11:00am on Tuesday, June 6th to RAVA Vice President, Dan Reardon at 336-2967 or HYPERLINK "mailto:daniel_reardon@westiron.monroe.edu"daniel_reardon@westiron.monroe.edu
