<p>In addition to the Search Committee, there will be seven subcommittees to allow a broader array of people to be involved with the search. These subcommittee will assist in the planning and hosting of candidate events: Hospitality; Technology; Campus Visits; Post Campus Visit Survey; College Community Engagement; Rochester Community; and Communications. <p><strong>Combined Administration/SCAA Search</strong></p>
<p>The Special Committee on Administrative Affairs Committee (SCAA) of the Faculty Senate will be working with Administration to conduct a combined search (as outlined under Article 5.2.2 of the Faculty Senate Resolutions). Under this type of search, half of the search committee will be appointed by Administration (in this case, chair of the Board of Trustees, Barbara Lovenheim) and the other half will be selected by SCAA. To assist SCAA with selecting its members of the Search Committee, we will be considering self-nominations of individuals to serve as SCAA representatives on the Presidential Search Committee (see below for qualifications and eligibility).</p>
<p>The Administrative appointees will include representation from: The Board of Trustees, Students, County, City, Business, MCC Foundation, Faculty Association (FA), CSEA, Support Staff, and MCC Administration.</p>
<p><strong>Timeline and Commitment </strong></p>
<p>Search Committee members must be able to commit significant time for meetings and related activities, including evenings, weekends and breaks. The duration of service as a Search Committee member is anticipated to be from approximately August 31 to November 15, 2020, but we realize we may need to be flexible with the timeline in these unprecedented times. Training will be required and attendance at scheduled meetings will be mandatory, as is compliance with all related rules, statutes, and regulations. You will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement.</p>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<p>Individuals serving as SCAA search committee representatives must be represented by Faculty Senate (see next paragraph). They should also have an understanding of the role of our College President within the College, the community, the state, and the nation. They must be knowledgeable of the internal and external operations of the College and have a demonstrated interest in the College. Prior and current service to the College, participation in cross divisional committees, leadership development, and a demonstrated commitment to the values, mission, and goals of the College will be considered.</p>
<p><strong>Who is eligible to apply on the SCAA side?</strong></p>
<p>All full- and part-time teaching faculty with academic rank (excluding adjunct faculty); and all full- and part-time non-teaching faculty (also often referred to as Professional Staff) in the following categories: advisors, assistant directors, associate directors, coaches, clinical supervisors, coordinators, counselors, directors (except those not covered by the Faculty Association contract), librarians, managers, specialists, and technical assistants.</p>
<p><strong>Nomination Process</strong></p>
<p>Individuals that are interested in being considered for service on this committee must submit a single page letter (maximum of 600 word) that speaks to their qualifications based on the criteria noted above and why they are interested in participating on this committee. Please include your job title and department. Nominations must be submitted via email to Becky Babcock, chair of SCAA at rbabcock@monroecc.edu, no later than May 15, 2020. Questions regarding serving as a SCAA representative on the Search Committee may be directed to Becky, and questions regarding serving as an administrative-appointed representative on the committee should be directed to Kristin Lowe at klowe5@monroecc.edu.</p>

Presidential Search Committee Formation Information

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee has spent the Spring 2020 semester collecting feedback to inform the Presidential Profile (i.e. position description). Hopefully everyone had the chance to share their thoughts and concerns. It is now time to start forming the Search Committee for the search for the next permanent President of MCC.
