In recognition of the 10th Anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the Diversity & Community Studies Film Series at DCC presents a very special learning event - I Know I’m Not Alone: A Musician’s Journey Through War in the Middle East (2005). This powerful documentary was filmed in Afghanistan, Iraq and Palestine, and is directed by Michael Franti, who the sponsors of this event and others are working to bring to MCC in the spring of 2012. (Please see our Facebook page “Petition to Bring Michael Franti to MCC” to learn more about our grass-roots mission.)
This work has been described as a “true armchair travel film pulling the audience into these war zones in the company of Michael’s guitar, eloquence and wit – you feel the humanity, artistic resilience and sometimes horrific experience of what it’s like to live under the bombs…” --https://www.iknowimnotalone.com
