Walk for Parkinson's Disease at MCC

Sunday, September 16 at 10:30 a.m.
MCC Parking Lot G (behind Bldg. 10)
Sign-in at 8:30 a.m.
Activities begin at 9:00 a.m.

The National Parkinson Foundation’s Moving Day is a fundraising event designed to create greater awareness – not just of movement, but of Parkinson’s Disease itself, a movement disorder.

This event will be held at MCC and will consist of am approximately one-mile walk around the campus buildings, health exhibits, a Moving Day Pavilion with yoga, mini exercise, Tai Chi, and more.  Bring the kids as we have fun things for them too!

Barth and I are both retirees from MCC and when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’ Disease four years ago we were both in shock.  How could this be?  What do we do?  We had so many questions and quite frankly, we were scared.  With the support of our family and friends and with a wonderful PD support group, we are doing remarkably well.

Please join Team Christian to help raise funds that will support the NPF’s three-fold mission, to provide much needed services to individuals with PD, educate the community, and research to find a cure.

You can support this effort in the following ways:

1.       Join Team Christian and bring contributions that day.  (We would love to see you.)  You can register via the website
www.movingdayrochester.org.

2.      Ask a friend to walk with you or sponsor you with a donation.

3.      If you are unable to walk and would like to donate you can do so at
www.movingdayrochester.org.

4.      You can contact me at
mcchristian48@gmail.com and I would be happy to come to campus to accept your donation (always looking for an excuse to see my MCC friends!), or contact Debbie Ake, my niece, at ext. 3194, Room 11-261, and she will be happy to bring your donation to the event.

5.      Maybe a loved one or someone you know has PD.  You could form your own team and join us as we walk to bring awareness.

Donations can be made in cash or by checks made out to National Parkinson Foundation Greater Rochester and please list Team Christian in the memo field.

Barth and I would like to thank you in advance as your support is very much appreciated.
