Monshipour to Present at the Little Theatre Saturday, May 16th

Shahin Monshipour, MCC faculty member and cross-cultural consultant to High Falls Film Festival, will present an analytical introduction and review of the award-winning documentary film, "The Queen & I,"  at the Little Theatre on May 16th. (5:00 pm at the Little 5).

The film that was recommended by Monshipour to the High Falls Film Festival of Rochester is an interesting film and Monshipour's analysis offers political, global, and cultural insights into a society much discussed here in the US during the last three decades.

“The Queen and I” features two women , the former empress Farah Pahlavi of Iran, and her onetime opponent (communist activist) Sarvestani, as they both are forced to leave their homeland for good because of the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

There are 10 free tickets available (courtesy of the Iranian community) for interested MCC adjunct and full-time faculty and staff who are involved in serving the international students at MCC, or teach Sociology, Anthropology, History, Political Science, Journalism, Film and Photography, Philosophy, or Foreign languages at MCC.

For further information or to ask for a free ticket, you may call Shahin Monshipour at 473-2945.
